Ms. Shelley L. Francis, M.S., F.A.A.A.- Audiologist
Ms. Francis has more than 20 years of experience working with children and their families. Ms. Francis founded East Meadow Hearing & Speech Center in 1990.
The East Meadow Hearing & Speech Center applies advances in neuroscience and cognitive research to increase human potential. We utilize unique products, tools, and implementation strategies that enable people to build the fundamental cognitive abilities required to read and learn. We use technology, as appropriate, to provide our customers with the applications that allow each learner to progress based on his or her individual needs.

Shelley L. Francis received her B.S. in Speech & Language Sciences from Stephen F. Austin Sate University in 1983 and her M.S. from North Texas State University in 1986. In 1989 she established the East Meadow Hearing & Speech Center and began specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Central Auditory Processing Disorders.

Motivated by the challenges that her brother faced growing up with an undiagnosed disability, which was later diagnosed as an Auditory Processing Disorder, Shelley Francis continues to learn and promote therapies used to treat auditory processing deficits and related speech, language and learning disabilities.

In 1993 Shelley Francis made her first of eight visits to Puerto Rico where she treated groups of 20 or more children with Auditory Processing Disorders and other related disabilities such as Autism & PDD.(Pervasive Developmental Disorder) In 1997 & 1998 she was asked to visit Jerusalem, Israel where she treated 48 children with Auditory Processing Disorder and other related disabilities such as Autism and PDD.

Shelley L. Francis continues to be a leader in the field of Auditory Processing, developing and implementing therapies to address Auditory Processing weaknesses and related language learning challenges. She has a unique perspective into this disorder, with an empathy and understanding of the challenges these children and their families face each and every day.
